Michael Crow

Obituary of Michael Lee Crow

Michael Lee Crow passed away November 6, 2021 after 71 years of pure delight, as he enjoyed a life full of laughter and love. Mike was known best for his generous heart, adventurous spirit, and medium funny dad jokes. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Martha Dyer Crow, and his daughter Christy Stiger (Mark) and two granddaughters Tessa (11) and Millie (9). He is joining his son, Dave, in heaven with a big hug and a to-do list. Mike was born September 8, 1950 to Delbert and Lorene Crow in St.Louis, Missouri along with three sisters. He is survived by sisters Diage Paige (Craig) and Robin Lewis (Dave). Mike worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation for most of his career, and retired in 2008 after 35 years. He then worked at Kansas Asphalt Pavement Association for 5 years. Mike and Martha moved to Colorado in 2013 to be able to watch their grandchildren grow up. While in Colorado, he worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation and RockSol Consulting Group. Mike was dedicated to his professional career, but held his family as the highest priority in his life. He was known for his big laugh and greeted everyone with a smile. He lived life joyfully, always willing to lend a hand: building projects, taxi driver for his granddaughters, attending every kids sporting event or school play. He had an unending positive attitude and didn't take himself too seriously, even though he was exceptionally skilled and an amazing problem solver. He saw the best in people and was happy for their accomplishments. Mike was always up for the next adventure: scuba diving, camping, traveling, remodel projects, motorcycling. He had an unwavering sense of direction wherever he was and knew the location of the best ice cream stop in any area along the Kansas highways. He will be dearly missed by his family. His joy lives on in his memories and all the stories he loved to relive. His faith in Jesus was the foundation of his life, and he would talk about how much he looked forward to heaven. Our hearts are so happy that he is having a blast with the Lord, as we miss him in the here and now. In Mike's passing, his family is holding a small private service. If you would like to honor Mike, give of yourself generously to someone in need, and live your life in joy.
