Obituary of Cheryl Lynn Green

Cheryl Lynn Green, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 19, 2022, at home in Greeley, Colorado.

Cheryl was born February 26th, 1962, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Richard and Carol (Wegner) Koentopp. She moved with her family to Loveland, Colorado in the winter of 1969 and graduated from Thompson Valley High School in 1980. After graduation she completed her Associates Degree from Denver College of Nursing, and in 1983 she married Merlin Green.

Besides spending time with her family and friends or doting upon her grandchildren, Cheryl had a strong passion for volunteering, traveling, attending Colorado Eagles games, going to watch the Denver Broncos, or rooting for the Green Bay Packers. In recent years, her favorite time was spending weekends traveling with her partner Ray through the drag racing circuit and getting to be part of his pit crew.

For Cheryl, there was no such thing as a stranger. She loved getting to meet new people, learn everything about them and getting to share her own personal history and stories.

She is survived by her partner Ray Groves; son Michael Green (Ashley); daughter Carolann Green (Sam); father Rick Koentopp (Linda); brother Mark Koentopp (Alana); grandchildren Grayson and Vivian Green; as well as many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband Merlin and mother Carol.
