+ 1
I had the pleasure of caring for Dick for the last 1 1/2 years of his amazing life
It didn’t take long for me to break the ice with him
We enjoyed going outside when the weather was nice
We listened to music and enjoyed watching the birds outside his window
His kid #4 Sheryl would fill up the bird feeders during the Spring
It was an honor to know him and get to know the story of his life
You will be missed and cherished
Rest Peacefully Mister

I had the extreme pleasure to get to know both Dick and Peggy over the past several years! Their love for each other was so evident!
Dick really had kind eyes! I will miss seeing him and getting to chat with him and Sheryl! Dick always shook my hand and bid me a kind and sincere adieu.
I will miss Dick asking me, “You stepped in what?”
God speed Dick! A job well done my friend!
Your friend,
Jason

Thank you Jason. Dad didn't enjoy going to the doctor :) but he always enjoyed seeing you. No matter how much he struggled with his memories, he always knew you the moment he saw you. I appreciate you so much for how well you took care of him and Mom during their time in Colorado.

I am sending prayers of peace & comfort to Richards family!
I was with Richard 3 times a week for the last 20 months of his life. I will so miss his dry humor, witty sarcasm, & crooked little grin before or after an eye roll. Richard loved watching Videos & reading, especially about Colorado & Colorado Springs! I was always amazed at how people were driven & attracted to being around him. Even when he was quiet & still, we would have 4-6 people always come just to be by him by the couch outside his room. People were very drawn to him! And when others, especially other residents, walked by, he gave them a salute, wave or friendly nod & smile! And he loved the Sunshine so much when he was in or outside!
I was always impressed by the dedication, love & loyalty that Richards 2 daughters, Sheryl & Dianne always showed to their father.
Their visits, facetime calls & constant care, very much brightened his day! He said that each one of his kids was his favorite & always said that he was so lucky to have great 5 kids! I very much miss hanging out with Richard & his gang at the end of the hall!
Love to his family in his loss!

He was an amazing man and I miss him and Mom terribly. Even with his Alzheimer's, he remembered that he loved his children everyday. I will never forget him telling me "take care gal, you be careful" every time I hugged him goodbye. Love you Dad, from Sheryl #4 kid
