



Obituary of Wayne Russell Larsen
Wayne Larsen (86) passed away May 4, 2023. Wayne was born September 26, 1936, in Dover, MN to Tilman and Marie Larsen. He graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, MN and met his future wife Jane, married 64 years this month. After 1 year of college, he enlisted in the Air Force where he trained as a pilot. He served tours in Iceland, Vietnam, and Germany, retiring a Major while serving his last tour in Colorado Springs. They loved the mountains and made Colorado their home, settling in Loveland. He finished his college degree at CSU and worked many years as a system analyst/programmer for the USDA.
Wayne and Jane enjoyed travelling with the miliary and continued with years of camping and hiking throughout the Rocky Mountains, the western states, and across the country as they visited family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Jane, sisters Hazel Jackson and Vicki Bowden (Phil), daughters Barb Kinsey, Carol Carlson (Ken), and Margaret Fazzio (Shane), sons Ken Larsen and Stephen Larsen (Rachel), 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland on May 11, 2023 at 11AM. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will precede the Mass at 10AM. A reception will follow the service in the church hall.
Inurnment will be at Cheyenne National Cemetery, Cheyenne, WY at a later date.
Family requests, in leu of flowers, donations be made to Rocky Mountain Conservancy (https://rmconservancy.org) or to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Loveland, CO.
