Obituary of David William O'Brien
Dave was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Rochester, New York.
Dave is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Jane Taffner O'Brien.
Their son, Thomas William O'Brien (Debbie). Their daughter, Christine O'Brien Wride, Grandchildren, Zachary Joseph O'Brien, Abby Jane O'Brien, Kylie Elizabeth Lucio, Patrick William O'Brien, and Jacob Elijah Lucio. His sister, Mary O'Brien Fritts, and brothers, Thomas Mark O'Brien (Jean), John Kevin O'Brien (Vicki), and several nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his beloved son, John David O'Brien, his sister, Jean O'Brien Capezzuto, brother Donald Joseph O'Brien, and his son-in-law, William (Bill) Wride.
Dave was a retired American Airlines employee. In the ensuing years, he and his family moved to Utah, Nevada, California, Texas and settled in Colorado. An avid golfer, and a devoted Denver Broncos fan, Dave was also a lifelong Democrat.
After retirement, Dave enjoyed volunteering at the Community Kitchen of Loveland. It saddened him that his illness precluded his continuing to serve the people of Loveland. Dave will long be remembered for his cheerful smile and the joy he took in making people laugh at his jokes. He also never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
His family is grateful for the excellent and loving care given to Dave and his loved ones by Pathways Palliative and Hospice Care. A private celebration of life will take place at a future time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave's name to Loveland's Community Kitchen, P.O. Box 3033, Loveland, CO 80539
