After attending Loyola Catholic School and Cathedral High School in Denver, Marilyn graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Leavenworth, Kansas, in 1961. She spent another year at the School of Medical Record Librarians, which is affiliated with the College of Saint Mary.

Marilyn worked as Assistant to the Director of Medical Records at General Rose Hospital in Denver, where her grandson was later born. Following her time at Rose, she worked at National Jewish Health, and then St. Joseph’s Hospital in downtown Denver, where her aunt, Sister Marcelina (Carmel) Telgmann, was a nun for the sisters of Charity Leavenworth (SCL), who ran hospital operations. Marilyn later worked as the Director of Medical Records at Desert Hot Springs Eisenhower Medical Center in California before moving back to Colorado. She was introduced to her husband, Tom Kasubke, by her good friend Barbara Nather’s husband, Darryl. They were married on May 25, 1974.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 49 years,Tom Kasubke; one son, David Kasubke; one daughter, Kimberly Kasubke (Christopher Doucet); one grandson, Tanner Doucet; sister Sue Shenk (Don); and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Kasubke and Kathy Loer (Kasubke); five nieces, Tina Strelow, Nina Baer, Tracey Brien, Danielle Bender, and Mitzi Loer; two nephews, Ricky Wood and Rob Loer; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She spent time over the years with their Model T Club, and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Buick Club of America, where she was the secretary for the past several years.

Marilyn enjoyed stamping letters for several years through Loveland’s “Sweetheart City” Valentine Program. Marilyn took a cake decorating class which taught her skills so she could go on to decorate many cakes for family and friends. She loved plants and flowers, especially roses. She loved arranging flowers for friends, church, and family. She loved the mountain view from her home, smiley faces, hummingbirds, storybook dolls, and any cute, little critters.
