James Rhoades

Obituary of James Theodore Rhoades

James Rhoades (Jim) was born in Denver and lived in Riverton and Casper, Wyoming as a young boy and his family moved to Denver before High School.  Jim spent 6 years working in California in Computer Tech Services. He graduated from Regis University.  He worked at Reynolds and Reynolds, and Hewlett Packard in Loveland for decades before retiring from Hewlett Packard in 2007.  Jim and Joyce met while he was working for Dura Dome in Denver, calculating structure stress analysis of the Domes.  Jim and Joyce married in 1974 in Denver and honeymooned in the Teton Yellowstone area and traveled up into the Canadian Rockies to Lake Louise.

Jim’s parents were H. Joseph and Edna Rhoades.  He had two brothers, Ralph and Mike.  His older brother Ralph passed away several years ago and his younger brother Mike lives in Arvada with his wife Nancy.  Jim’s sister Kathleen is the youngest in his family and lives in the Golden area.

Jim and Joyce have two children: Christine and John.  Christine and husband Brian McKee have Jim’s grandkids, Joshua and Kaitlyn, living in Westminster.  John and wife Johanna Rhoades have Jim’s grandkids Abigail (Abby) and Elijah, living in Wellington.

Jim was a member and participant in Lifespring Covenant Church in Loveland, and the Gideons International, the Thompson Valley Camp.  He loved to travel, watch the Broncos, spend time at the mountain cabin, create woodworking projects like the dining room table, and enjoyed going out to eat.  He liked to spontaneously and randomly tell others about Jesus.

Jim is survived by his wife Joyce, daughter Christine McKee and husband Brian and grandkids Joshua and Kaitlyn, son John Rhoades and wife Johanna and grandkids, Abby and Elijah.  Jim is survived by brother Mike Rhoades and wife Nancy, sister Kathleen Garramone, and sister-in-law Cherie Rhoades.  Jim is survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jean and Jerry Lammers, and Donna and Rod Krey. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.
