Obituary of Kevin Eugene Beard
Kevin Eugene Beard, 62, of Loveland, Co, passed away July 09. 2023, at home, after several years of battling with severe respiratory issues.
Kevin was born May 29,1961 to Ed and Oleathia Beard in Denver, CO
Kevin grew up in the Park Hill area of Denver, Co. He spent lots of time with his younger sister and a grandmother who helped raise them. He was involved in the church; ROTC and his dad coached him in football during high school. He had fond memories of his mom’s uncle Louie Armstrong jamming in their living room when he was in Denver.
He had a very close relationship with his mother, who instilled an ability to see the positive, infuse humor in every situation, remain strong in adversity and walk in a strong faith in God. This carried over into his own life as he would light up a room with his huge smile, laugh and encouraging words. He touched people everywhere he went.
He married Carol Flowers, Aug 17, 2003, and took on 7 children as well, some who were in their teens at that point – something most men would not do. With his deep love and caring he poured everything into being a husband, dad and then papa. He left us no doubt that we were loved.
His deep relationship and love of God, flowed out into caring for and loving others. He was a passionate worshiper, intercessor, exhorter, and actively served in several different ministries over the years – leading worship and teaching in a cowboy church; dancing and traveling with the Israeli Celebration dancers (even getting to travel with them to dance in the streets of Jerusalem), a worshiper and intercessor at Jerusalem of Gold, and most recently finding his home in Vintage City Church and serving on the security team.
He wore many different career hats over the years – traffic cop, volunteer fireman and a member of a rescue dive team in Estes, worked feedlots and was a ranch manager in eastern Colorado. He was a bouncer, valet and taught swing dance. He was a tennis instructor with the city and school district, and part time facility supervisor for the Chilson, overseeing many events. He spent time on the board of the Republican party in Colorado as sergeant of arms. He found his passion in training people in how to protect themselves through Krav Maga, concealed carry classes and offering event and VIP security as well. He had students all ages, with a number of stories and needs that he took to heart.
No matter what he did, the core of everything he did, was to minister to the hearts of the people, to serve, to love and come alongside the people in his life through all kinds of trials.
He is survived by his parents, Oleathia and Ed Beard, step mom, Caroline; sister, Janet Williams, nephew, Don (Amber) and their 2 sons, 2 step kids -Jason and Shannon and 9 grandkids, his wife, Carol and stepkids- Steve, Jon, Sheila, Joe, Brian, LynnCheri, Alicia and 18 grandchildren, plus numerous other family members and friends.
