Obituary of Jason Laird Benjamin

Jason Laird Benjamin, 60, of Loveland, CO, went to Heaven to be with Jesus on August 19, 2023 after battling cancer.

Jason was born on September 5, 1962 to Clifford and Betty Benjamin in Vancouver, WA. After Jason graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1980 he went on to study business administration obtaining his bachelor's degree from Warner Pacific College.

Jason worked for UPS for 10 years in Portland, Oregon before moving to Loveland, CO to start his own package delivery business, which eventually became Direct Package Express (DPX). He started DPX in 1996 and he continued to run the delivery business until 2012. When the business first started it was “2 packages and a truck” and with his business partners it grew to cover 90% of the Colorado population. Jason continued to work in transportation in various ways until his death. 

In 1984, Jason met Edith Benjamin while they were both working at Youth Outreach in Vancouver, WA. Jason and Edith went on to have four children, Christopher, Alyssa, Kelsey, and Nicole.

In his free time, Jason enjoyed traveling, exploring his family history, trying new and interesting cuisines, watching the Denver Broncos, spending time with his family, and playing with his grandchildren.

Jason was a devoted man of God and his faith only strengthened with age. Instead of becoming bitter he became better, instead of loving less he loved more. Now he’s in a place where there is no more pain and to hear the Father’s “Well done son,” because he fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. 

Jason was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Betty Benjamin. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Edith, and children: Christopher (Ellie), Alyssa (Jef), Kelsey, Nicole. Grandchildren: Jasper and Forest. Siblings: Chris (Carolyn), Karlyn, Merri, and Emily (Matt).

Celebration of life will be held at Vintage City Church: 1501 Academy Ct. #101, Ft. Collins, CO on August 26, 2023 at 1:30pm.
