Obituary of David Wayne Sears
David Wayne Sears of Loveland, Colorado, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023 after a fight with cancer.
David was born in Ottawa, Kansas on 7 June 1944 to Lawrence Wayne Sears and Esther Elizabeth Richards, and spent his high school years in Norman, Oklahoma. After graduating with a degree in journalism from Oklahoma University, he became a well-known radio and TV personality and news anchor in Pueblo, Colorado where he also met and married his wife, Bethene Ann Bowlby. Following his career in journalism, he spent many years in retail sales. Despite his public careers, he was a private person who valued serving his family and others.
David loved the music of Pete Fountain and spending time in the mountains with his family. He loved learning, and was excited about the new things he was learning in a variety of fields and interests throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Bethene, a daughter, Deliese Ann, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two sisters. David is preceded in death by his younger brother, Steve Sears.
