Obituary of Donald Leroy Bush

We are sad to announce the passing of Donald LeRoy Bush, 90 years young, of Loveland, Colorado on September 21 of this year.

Don wea born to George and Magdalena Bush at Fort logan, Colorado on October 10, 1932. After graduation from South High School in Denver he entered into military service with the U. S. Army Signal Corps and served during the Korean War. Upon discharge from the military he returned to the Denver area where he worked in the electrical field, eventually earing his Masters Electricians License. On September 1, 1956 Don married Dorothy Jean Riefenberg of Denver, Colorado. Together they raised 2 sons and a daughter: Duane, Darrell and Donna. Don and Dorothy eventually left the Denver area and  moved to Loveland in 2000 to enjoy their retirement years.

Don and Dorothy enjoyed square dancing and were both very active in various square dance clubs in the Denver and Northern Front Range areas of Colorado for over 60 years. In addition to dancing Don enjoyed getting out into nature for fishing, camping and hunting.

He had been preceded in death by his parents, George and Magdalena, his brothers Armand, George Jr., Fred, Francis, and Charles and their wives, his sisters Maggie and Betty (and her husband), brother-in-law Richard and sister in law Laquetta. Don is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy, his sons Duane with his wife Odile, and Darrell, and his daughter Donna, 9 grand children and 5 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday October 21, 2023 at First United Methodist Church of Loveland, 533 Grant Ave. Internment will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, 24 October 2023 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodists Church of Loveland.
